After what I consider success in getting a 2D game up and running, I have been delving into learning how to put a 3D game together.
I’m slowly putting together a very simple 3D game - so simple in fact that there are no collisions to worry about or anything too complicated - but hey, got to start somewhere. I’m also having to push my modelling skills from zero to beginner to get something to show up on the screen.
It’s probably about 40% done in terms of getting the game play to work, and the graphics and menu etc. will be added later. I’m not pushing myself too hard on this one as it’s not really clear how many changes there will be to the Framework on December 11th when GSE/XNA goes live. So who else is excited about this?
I also have another 3D game in mind to work on once I’ve got the basics clear in my head.

I look forward to seeing it, from what I’ve heard from inside sources, there should be little to no changes to XNA code for the release. I tried to pry a pre-release out of those guys but they assue me that most stuff should work.

Thanks for the comment Bill, and glad to hear there will be minimal if any changes to the code required.
My “game” will be really really really simple, but thanks to your tutorials my understanding is definitely increasing.
I have to say that the translation of screen to world co-ordinates for mouse handling is proving the most difficult to comprehend right now, so my initial solution is not to use the mouse lol.
